The Toy Library...

Coffee Morning Most families, once they have composed themselves from the initial shock of discovering their child has Down's Syndrome, make their first contact with the group at the Red Cross Family Resource Centre in Oadby.

Once a month a baby and toddler group meets in this ideal location.  Where parents receive a well-earned break from parenthood, whilst volunteers entertain and supervise their children on the play equipment.

The coffee morning enables parents to meet and discuss problems or achievements of their children.  Also to connect with others in similar circumstances.

Due to some additional funding we are able to continue using the Red Cross Centre in Oadby until Spetember. The day has changed to a Wednesday and is available on the following dates: 14 May, 11 June, 9Jul and 10 Sept.

Two saturdays are available 7 Jun, 6 Sept at 9:45am until 11:45am but booking is required on 0116 2710359.

NB. We are looking for an alternative venue to use after September.

The toy library also provides many valuable resources, such as a lending library for many and varied specialist toys, a resource library of books and videotapes specifically about Down's Syndrome.  And also the use of a Multi-sensory room, full of very high tech equipment.
